July 2024
As we conclude July 2024, we are thrilled to share another successful month for our embedded mental health first aid programme. This month, we conducted five additional courses, welcoming 96 more participants into the programme. With this latest achievement, we have reached an impressive total of 1,061 certified mental health first aiders within the Garda community.
In addition to the successful completion of these courses, July also marked a significant milestone as we celebrated the graduation of our second cohort of facilitators at the Officers’ Club in Garda Headquarters. These dedicated individuals have worked diligently to become fully accredited mental health first aid facilitators, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments.
The graduation of Cohort 2 not only enhances our programme's capacity but also signifies our commitment to expanding mental health support within our organisation. With their training and expertise, these newly accredited facilitators will play a crucial role in delivering future courses, ensuring that even more personnel are equipped to provide vital support to their colleagues.
At the Garda National Wellbeing Office, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the participants and especially to our newly graduated facilitators. Your hard work and dedication are instrumental in promoting mental health awareness and creating a supportive environment for everyone.
As we look forward to the upcoming months, we are excited about the continued growth of our mental health first aid programme and the positive impact it will have on our personnel and the wider community.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to mental health awareness and support.
