GNWO Health & Wellbeing Hub

The Garda National Wellbeing Office (GNWO) have developed a new Health & Wellbeing hub which is now live on the Garda Portal. The Health & Wellbeing Hub is designed to be a one-stop-shop for everything to do with supports and information on personal health, safety, welfare and wellbeing and is an action highlighted in the Health & Wellbeing Strategy. (Action Plan reference 2.1.2)

The Strategy set out the steps An Garda Síochána will take to ensure that our vision for the health and wellbeing of all AGS personnel is embedded across the organisationand reflected not only in policies and procedures, but also in our interactions with one another.

The vision set out in the strategy adopts a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. A rang of factors affect everyone's wellbeing but we also know that good mental health and physical health are crucial pillars that strengthen our resilience and ability to cope with daily life. In relation to our workplace, there is no doubt that policing as a profession has unique challenges and hazards.

Our Strategy and Action Plan recognises this and the Health & Wellbeing Hub will help ensure that the signposting and appropriate services and supports are available to all, as required.

The hub offers a wealth of internal and external resources and support, aimed at enhancing the physical and mental health of all personnel.

We are committed and determined to understand and address the issues affecting our staff and to "Keeping Our People Supported".

As we develop more Health and Wellbeing Initiatives, the Health & Wellbeing Hub will be updated.
