World Digestive Health Day (WDHD) - May 29th

Each year, the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) celebrates World Digestive Health Day (WDHD) with a global public health campaign to raise awareness about the prevention, prevalence, diagnosis, management, treatment of digestive diseases and disorders, and to encourage good gut health.
This year’s campaign, Don't Flush the Signs Away, underscores three key messages regarding chronic diarrhoea:
- Know what your colon is trying to tell you.
- When in doubt, get underlying conditions ruled out.
- Chronic diarrhea deserves attention, not embarrassment
To learn about different gastrointestinal conditions, or access educational toolkits, you can explore the World Digestive Health Day (WDHD) hub. For additional regional resources regarding your digestive health, the Health Service Executive website offers excellent information.
Please also revisit the series of Webinars posted in March for World Sleep Day and Nutrition and Hydration Week. These webinars were prepared specifically with Garda personnel in mind, particularly those working shift work, providing simple and practical ideas to help make small steps towards improving your digestive health.
