National Volunteering Week 18-24th May

National Volunteering Week is a weeklong celebration of volunteering. Along with the network of Volunteer Centres, Volunteer Ireland uses National Volunteering Week to amplify the incredible stories of volunteering in our communities through social and traditional media. It’s a week full of events, both online and in person, with everything from yoga to coffee mornings to seminars on offer.

National Volunteering Week 2026 centres on the theme “From Every Corner, For Every Cause” which celebrates all the different types of volunteers and volunteering that make up our communities.
Volunteering with an organisation
There are lots of different ways to volunteer! One of the most popular ways is with a local group or organisation. There are lots of organisations doing fantastic work in our communities looking for the support of volunteers. Depending on your interests and what’s available, you could do anything from volunteering with a youth club to befriending an older person. Check out all of the current opportunities near you now.
