Get Ireland Walking is a national initiative that aims to empower and support people to choose to walk more often for recreation, transport, and health as part of their everyday lives.
Why Walk?
Walk to energise your body, mind and soul. No matter how old you are, how fit you are or how busy you are, walking works!
Make a promise to get started and to stay commited. The goal is to walk actively just five times a week for 30 minutes each time. You can start with just 10 minutes of walking and build from there.
Even if you walk out your front door for five minutes and walk back, you’re going to feel good and you’re starting to do yourself some good!
Join a walking group
We have over 800 walking groups registered across the country. By joining a walking group you will be part of a growing national movement for people who are proud to walk for fun and for their health.
