December 2024
As we conclude December 2024, we are pleased to report that we had a further 13 mental health first aid courses take place this month, resulting in 232 more of our personnel becoming certified in this vital programme. This brings our total for the year to an outstanding 2,098 certified mental health first aiders within the Garda community.
In addition, we are excited to share that Cohort 4 of our facilitators completed their training this month. We wish them the best as they prepare to deliver their first courses in January. Their readiness to step into this role signifies another milestone in our ongoing effort to expand mental health support across the organisation.
As we prepare to take a break for the Christmas period, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our dedicated mental health first aid facilitators for their collaborative efforts in helping us achieve and exceed our targets for the year. Your hard work and commitment have made a significant impact on the wellbeing of our personnel. We wish everyone a peaceful and restorative break. We hope you take some well deserved time to relax and recharge before we kick off again in 2025.
We also extend our thanks to everyone who attended the courses this year and to all those involved in organising these sessions. Each of you plays an essential role in promoting mental health awareness and support within our organisation.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to promoting mental health awareness and support. We look forward to continuing this important work in the new year!
