January 2024
In January 2024, we proudly marked a significant milestone in our commitment to mental health awareness and support. Our inaugural group of embedded mental health first aid facilitators, who have undergone rigorous preparation to become leaders in this crucial initiative, successfully delivered their first courses. This momentous occasion is not just a reflection of their dedication but also a pivotal step forward in fostering a healthier, more supportive environment for all.
Across the organisation, six courses were held, resulting in 107 participants who completed the programme and have now become certified mental health first aiders, equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide immediate support to those in need. This achievement underscores the importance of mental health awareness and the role that individuals play in promoting wellbeing within our organisation.
At the Garda National Wellbeing Office, we celebrate the commitment, hard work and passion demonstrated by our facilitators. Your efforts are instrumental in launching this programme and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on those around you. Together, we are creating a network of support that will help break down barriers and encourage open conversations about mental health.
As we move forward, we are eager to see how these newly certified mental health first aiders will apply their training to make a difference. Your contributions are invaluable and we are confident that you will inspire others to prioritise mental health and wellbeing.
Congratulations once again to all our facilitators and participants for this remarkable achievement. Let us continue to work together to promote mental health awareness and create a supportive community for everyone.
