May 2024
As we move into May 2024, we are excited to share further progress in our embedded mental health first aid programme. This month has had an impressive 14 additional courses taking place. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our facilitators, we welcomed another 257 participants into the programme, bringing our new total to an outstanding 861 certified mental health first aiders within the Garda community.
The ongoing commitment displayed by our facilitators and participants underscores the importance of mental health training in our organisation. Each newly certified mental health first aider is now equipped with the skills to provide essential support to colleagues, fostering a culture of understanding and compassion in the workplace.
The expansion of our programme during May further demonstrates our dedication to prioritising mental health awareness and support. With each course delivered, we are not only increasing the number of trained personnel but also igniting meaningful conversations about mental health, helping to break down barriers and stigma.
At the Garda National Wellbeing Office, we are incredibly proud of the progress made by all involved. Your collective efforts are making a significant difference and we are excited to see the positive impact of your training in the lives of our colleagues and the wider community.
As we continue this important journey, we look forward to the ongoing success of our mental health first aid programme and the invaluable contributions of our certified first aiders.
Thank you for your dedication to promoting mental health awareness and support.
